Whether you love your faith, chocolate or simply going on holidays at this time of year – let us tell you about some of the beautiful Easter escapes that we’ve planned for you! This month one of our on-road hostesses, Debra, has also shared some of her thoughts about what it’s like to join us on tour over Easter.
So let’s start marking some dates in your calendar!
April 7 – Easter Yearling Sales (NSW Day Trip)
If you love horses, grab yourself a seat on our coach (Route A – Newcastle Area) for only $55 per person, as we head down to the Easter Yearling Sales. We’ll observe some of Australia’s premier racing teams as they auction and purchase their best thoroughbreds at the Riverside Stables in Sydney. Grab yourself some lunch and maybe a hot cross bun and celebrate Easter by admiring some of your favourite animals.
April 8 & 14 – The Sydney Royal Easter Show (NSW Day Trips)
The largest ticketed Easter event in New South Wales, the Sydney Royal Easter Show, is back for 2020 and is busily preparing for your first visit of this decade! Whether it’s been a while since you last visited or you’re a regular, every year there’s something different to see – including the fabulous produce displays, art and cooking competitions, workshops to attend food stalls and markets to explore, animal nurseries and shows, you will definitely have a fun day out and if you attend on Seniors Day, April 8, it’s only $64 for concession and $94 for adults on Route B (Maitland Area).
Want to bring the kids or grand-kids? There’s rides, entertainment and show bags galore! The 14th of April is our kid-friendly day and it’s $77 for concession, $94 for adults and $64 for children on Route A (Newcastle Area).
April 9 – Easter Bright (NSW/QLD Holiday Tour)
Wanting to do more than a day trip? Once again we are tripping off to Bright for 6 egg-citing days over the Easter holidays and we’d love to welcome you aboard. Featuring visits to wineries and local produce stores, exploring local gold mining history at the Bright museum and watching the magic of autumn, as the leaves begin to turn from vibrant green into a variety of colourful hues. This tour is full of moments to relax and take it easy over Easter, whilst exploring the Australian landscape and supporting local communities. April 10 – Start of the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race (QLD Day Trip)
Time to brush off those spray jackets and jump on a boat to experience the thrill of the start of the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race! If you love getting out on the water, enjoy sailing or participating in local events, this day trip (Route B – Windsor to Brighton) is for you. For $139 per person, treat yourself to a day out amongst the sail boats on board the luxury vessel ‘MV Eye Spy’. With morning tea and a buffet lunch included, you’re ‘shore’ to have a great day.
April 10 – Gladstone Easter Festival (NSW/QLD Holiday Tour)
If you want to watch the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race and want to enjoy it for a little while longer, why not hop aboard the Gladstone Easter Festival 4 day holiday tour! During your 3 night stay, enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes while you wander amongst the festival and Marina Markets. As a bonus, you’ll also visit the Maritime Museum as well as the Tondoon Botanical Gardens to really experience the Easter atmosphere in Gladstone. April 11 – The Nundle Chinese Easter Festival (NSW Day Trip)
If you’re not a fan of the Easter Bunny, how about an Easter Dragon? Booked during the Easter holiday period, if you’re looking for something a little different, the Nundle ‘Go for Gold’ Chinese Easter Festival is something to consider. The festival celebrates traditional gold mining practices and the many Chinese that settled in the area in search of their fortune. The festival offers activities for both seniors and the young at heart with a variety of activities; from street theatre, dancers and entertainment to markets with over 100 stalls, as well as face painters, animal nurseries and entertainment for the kids. Mark it in your calendar and join us (Route B – Maitland Area) on Easter Saturday the 11th of April for only $67 per person.
April 14 – Museum of Yesteryear – Koogie Downs Museum (QLD Day Trip)
The Tuesday following the Easter weekend, the 14th of April, is when we are departing to explore the Koogie Downs Museum. Full of vintage artefacts and memorabilia, you’re sure to enjoy this day as you step back in time and reminisce about yesteryear. This day is a perfect escape for car and tractor enthusiasts, as well as those who love their vintage collectables. Join us on this memory filled day trip on our Route A (Strathpine to Clontarf – with Bribie/Caboolture pickups) for only $80 per person!
